A HAND GUN PERMIT, CCW OR FFL PERMIT IS REQUIRED TO BUY ANY HAND OR LONG GUN.

ONE PERMIT PER HAND GUN OR ONE PERMIT FOR MULTIPLE LONG GUNS.

After discussions with the Guilford County Sheriffs Department regarding the sale of firearms at auction, a hand gun permit OR a Concealed Carry Weapon Permit (CCW) will now be required for all firearms sold at our auctions.

We are taking this measure to insure the safety of our buyers, seller and Able Auctions, LLC. The law states that you must have a permit for any hand gun purchased, but we are extending it to all guns, hand guns & long guns. (There is one exception, you can purchase one hand gun and unlimited long guns on one permit).

Should you buy a gun at our auction and not have a permit, we will hold it until the permit is acquired. We hope you understand that making our auctions a pleasant, rewarding above all else safe experience is our primary concern.

Okay, let me see if I can explain this so that the misunderstandings will stop. We are WELL aware that there is no permit required BY LAW to purchase a rifle or shotgun. There is only a permit required to purchase a handgun BY LAW. WE have extended this to include rifles and shotguns, not the city, state or country. US! Able Auctions!

It is against federal law to sell a gun of any description to a felon. In order to know for sure whether a person has a criminal record, there must be a background check before the sale of a long gun. This IS required by law. WE HAVE NO WAY OF DOING THIS BACKGROUND CHECK! Therefore, we (Able Auctions) require you to go and get a pistol, or gun permit or Concealed Carry Permit to purchase ANY gun at our auctions. The Sheriffs department will do the background check, issue the permit and you may purchase the gun.

This is being done to insure that neither we (Able Auctions) or the seller we represent is breaking the law by selling a weapon to a felon or person of questionable character. Thereby protecting ourselves and our sellers from lawsuits and protecting our family, your family, our customers, our friends and our neighbors from these guns ending up in the hands of bad folks.
